Money & Banking:

ATM – Cash Point Machines

ATMS’s are everywhere and they take almost all cards however there is a 250 baht charge per transaction regardless of the size of the transaction.

Thai ATM’s will give you your cash first and then your card. Many people walk away and forget their card. Any cards left in the machine are shredded. Bring multiple cards and pay careful attention.

Yellow ATM’s (Krungsri Bank) allow you to take 30,000 baht in one transaction others it’s currently 20,000. Whilst a 250 baht charge might seem steep it’s not that bad if you take out large amounts.

Don’t take out 1000 at a time !

If you are offered to use the Bank’s conversion rate always decline this as it’s almost never as good as your home banks exchange rate.
